The story of Job is among the world's oldest literature. The story as we have it in the Bible was compiled by an Isrealite sometime between the time of Solomon and the Babylonian captivity. Israel is never mentioned in the story. The story itself is probably from the second mellennium BC. This makes the story of Job not only older than Moses but also the oldest story in all of scripture.

Jeremiah
( 1 Article )
More is known about Jeremiah's personal life than any other Biblical prophet. He was introverted, sensitive and reclusive because of this he has the nickname "the weeping prophet". He was called to be a prophet while he was still a young man and he resisted the call. Josiah had led the nation on a path of political reformation before Jeremiah began his ministry. He called Judah to repentance but it was too late. Although the needed political changes had come, the nation was in a nose dive spiritual decline from which it never recovered until after the Babylonian captivity.
